AJL Home Inspections are an independent provider of Home Information Packs (HIPs) and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for Cardiff and the South Wales area. We will order the searches and other relevant documents needed for the pack and undertake the Energy Survey ourselves, saving you money by cutting out the middle men. What is a HIP?
The Home Information Pack contains important information that buyers and sellers need to know. Home Information Packs including Energy Performance Certificates have been implemented on a phased basis which started on 1 August 2007 and now includes all properties.
The following compulsory documents must be included in a Home Information Pack.
What is an EPC?
Energy Performance Certificates are produced by qualified and accredited Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs). The report tells you how energy efficient a home is on a scale of A-G. The most efficient homes - which should have the lowest fuel bills - are in band A.
The Certificate also tells you, on a scale of A-G, about the impact the home has on the environment. Better-rated homes should have less impact through carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The average property in the UK is in bands D-E for both ratings. The Certificate includes recommendations on ways to improve the home's energy efficiency to save you money and help the environment.

There is an additional charge of £30 for leasehold properties and £50 for unregistered properties.
With all rental properties needing an EPC for new tenants from 1st October 2008, We now offer Rental Energy Assessments to Landlords and Letting Agents at a very competitive price. For quantities of 5 rental properties and more, assessed within the same week, our fee is only £55 NO VAT!!
